Did SNL Go Too Far? Blind Governor Not Happy

Saturday Night Live this weekend turned its comedic gaze to New York's Governor David Patterson. Actor Fred Amisen played Paterson, the blind Governor who must fill the senate seat vacated by Hillary Clinton. The National Federation of the Blind says the skit was an attack on all blind Americans. In the skit Amisen says that one of the qualifications for the Senate spot is having a disability and being unprepared for the job (like him). So, what's the deal? SNL - which has impersonated and generally roasted every major politician since its inception -- has just come off a successful campaign season. Tina Fey as Sarah Palin was a juggernaut that propelled the show to some of its best ratings in years. Now this. Did they go too far?
