Former SNL Band bassist has died. Tom "T-Bone" Wolk, 1951-2010

http://themusicsover.wordpress.com/2010/02/27/t-bone-wolk/

It's a sad day indeed. Other than USA losing to Canada for the Gold Medal, longtime SNL viewers will have something to mourn about. Earlier today, I've learned the sudden passing of former house band bassist, Tom "T-Bone" Wolk, from a message that I got from a Hall and Oates mailing list that I subscribe to.

T-Bone had died of a heart attack last night. Other than a member of the SNL Band, he'd worked and toured with Carly Simon, Shawn Colvin, Joe Pesci (Yes, that Joe Pesci), Rosanne Cash, Elvis Costello, etc.. He was 58.

Betty White to host SNL?

It might happen sooner or later. The former Golden Girl's recent appearance from last weekend's Super Bowl ad has sparked interest from numerous people get producer Lorne Michaels to ask her to host in the near future. And there's even a Facebook page dedicated to having the 88 year-old actress to host.

SNL On Hiatus until Feb. 27th

Because of the forthcoming Winter Olympics coverage on NBC, SNL will be pre-empted until Feb. 27 when Jennifer Lopez will do double duty as host and musical guest that night.

Until then, read my previous post about what to do when SNL's pre-empted during the Olympics, both Summer and Winter.

BTW, do you think Lorne Michaels should get Shaun White to host in March?
